Vic: EPA launches "Clean Up Your Beach Day"
MELBOURNE, Feb 4 AAP - Volunteers with a sharp eye for cigarette butts and syringes
have converged on a Melbourne beach in the first of a series of clean-up days organised
by the Environment Protection Authority (EPA).
According to the EPA, more than two billion items of litter are swept each year through
Victorian waterways to spoil the state's beaches.
To combat the problem, the EPA called on volunteers to don sturdy boots and sun-block
